Fall in Texas is an amazing time of year, one we personally look forward to. The season is full of nice cool weather and a vivid display of Autumn color. There is so much to look forward to, great places to travel and so much to enjoy outdoors!

Admire the Leaves

One of the best aspects of traveling through Texas during fall is enjoying the scenery and admiring the autumn leaves.

From the Cypress and Sycamore along the riverbanks to the Spanish Oak and Maple trees foresting the hills–hues of vibrant reds, yellows, and oranges spread throughout the beautiful Texas landscape.

There are so many famous spots for viewing these autumn leaves. If you’re visiting the Texas Hill Country this fall, we highly recommend making a trip to Lost Maples State Natural Area, a 2,000± acre preserve located on the Sabinal River, known for its Autumnal Beauty.

Take a Hike

Whether looking to get in shape, stay in shape or simply experience the sights and sounds of Texas nature, a hike is a great way to enjoy the outdoors.

Explore the high mesas, limestone bluffs, deep canyons and clear springs and rivers that fill the terrain.

Hike a challenging trail or take a nice and easy stroll. For a particularly breathtaking hike, try visiting Garner State Park, located just a few miles North of Concan on the Frio River. You won’t be disappointed!

Grill and Chill

With weather that feels like you’re inside, there is much desire to be outside during the fall season.

If it’s one thing that is guaranteed to bring family and friends together for a good time–it’s a grill and chill.

Hone in those grilling skills, after all, fall is a season of harvest. Fresh vegetables picked at the peak of ripeness, prime marinated meats–taste the flavors!

Relaxing daytime temps and brisk evenings make fall a wonderful time to visit a new golfing destination.

There is nothing wrong with teeing up for a great game surrounded by cooler weather, beautiful fall foliage and indulging views. A change of scenery might be just what you need. Be sure to test your golf game this fall at the Utopia Golf Course.

Along with the Texas fall season is the infamous hunting season. Although hunting isn’t for everyone, it serves good purpose for the environment.

The Whitetail Deer and Hog herd heavily in the Texas Hill Country. Hunting is actually a great way to keep the population under control as well as place a wholesome meal on the table!

What's your destination?

With all of the festivities that fall is known for, there are plenty of ways to get the whole family involved. So put on your coziest sweater and head over to your local Pumpkin Patch, Craft Fair or Renaissance Festival. Carve a pumpkin, roast marshmallows, burn a fall scented candle, drink warm cider in front of the fireplace or jump into a great big pile of leaves!

Get in the spirit–Admire Autumn!
